Description of Centre:
|
In the 21st century, it is knowledge and ideas that will drive the global economy. Innovation and creativity will generate new wealth and power, as did the manufacturing of goods over the last two centuries of Western Industrial Revolution. Our focus today therefore should be on the creation of new knowledge, on enhancing the power of the mind, and in inspiring creative output. The Centre for Media and Creative Communication (CMCC) in this context aims at providing a platform for academic staff of the university to conduct research on media/new media and creative communication within the cultural, economic, political and social context of Malaysia. The research will adopt an inter-disciplinary approach. The primary mission is to encourage, aid and support the academic staff to conduct research and to promote a research culture among the faculty members. Meanwhile, the centre also collaborates with community, industry and the government to provide innovative solutions and to facilitate knowledge transfer that has broad and beneficial impact. |

Endometriosis Workshop 2014
The objective of this workshop is to create awareness, to unite and to educate females and the community to look at options to help cope and deal with Endometriosis. The Endometriosis awareness workshop is also a platform for females to learn from their experiences when it comes to dealing with Endometriosis. There would be talks and discussion by a panel of medical experts and specialists on traditional medicine during the awareness workshop. A questionnaire was distributed to obtain valuable information on females with Endometriosis in Malaysia. Currently there are no statistical data on the number of females in the Klang Valley with this condition.
The workshop was successfully held on 29 November 2014 at PD Block, UTAR, Petaling Jaya Campus.
