Structural Earthquake Stability 2018 Intra and Inter University Competition UTAR Structural Earthquake Stability (SES) 2018 is the intra-university and inter-university competition organized by The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM), UTAR Student Chapter and Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) UTAR Student Chapter together with Department of Civil Engineering and CDRR, Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC-FES). The purpose of SES 2018 is to promote practical experience of earthquake engineering through small-scale structural model to the undergraduate by applying the knowledge and theory they have learnt before. Aim of this competition is to enhance students’ engineering knowledge, management skill, creativity and innovation in designing a cost-effective structure to resist seismic loading. Sunway sponsored RM15,000 to organize the event. For inter-university competition, the prizes given were champion, 1st and 2nd runner-up, the tallest structure, most efficient structure and two consolidation prize. There were overall 20 and 30 teams participate for inter-university competition. The event has successfully received responses from 138 participants from other universities. During event day, students were required to design a cost-effective structural model, using their engineering knowledge, management skills, creativity and innovation. Besides that, the organizing committee managed to invite Prof. Ir. Dr. Goi Bok Min to officiate the inter-university competition. Other than that, Adjunct Specialist Ir. MC Hee, Ir. Dr. Tan Yean Guan , Mr. Tan Kim Yoke, Dr. Lim Jee Hock, Ir. Kuah Kee Hong, Ir. Dr. Lim Siong Kang as the judges for the inter-university competition. International Conference on Civil & Environmental Engineering 2018 (ICCEE 2018) The ICCEE 2018, jointly organised by Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and University System of Taiwan (UST), was an initiative by the Centre for Disaster and Risk Reduction (CDRR) to complement the annual UTAR-UST Workshops that were held at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) in 2015 and at University System of Taiwan (UST) in 2016. International Conference on Civil & Environmental Engineering (ICCEE) 2018 aimed at presenting current researches carried out in the areas of Civil and Environmental Engineering for researchers, scholars, engineers, technologists and students from the universities and industries all around the World. The Conference provided opportunities for ICCEE’s delegates to exchange new ideas and research experiences face to face, to establish research relations and to find global partners for future collaboration. The outcomes of this Conference have benefited all delegates on their related subjects.

Conference Flyer The Conference has successfully attracted 70 speakers over the world with 80 technical papers presented. All the technical papers have been published in the open access SCOPUS indexed Conference Proceedings by edp Sciences under E3C Web of Conferences.
