Winners in Hack-a-thon
A team from the Department of Mechatronics and Biomedical
Engineering of the Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and
Science made UTAR proud by winning in the Hack-a-thon
competition organised by Materialise Sdn Bhd.
The
team comprised of two lecturers, Teoh Boon Yew and team
supervisor, Chai Tong Yuen and three students, Lum Boon Wai,
Eric Chua Shi Khang and Jannex Heng Chun Kit. The team won
in the track of Innovative use of 3D Printing Technologies
with their project titled Biological Scaffold Printing using
3D Print and collected a cash prize of RM 3,000 with
certificates.
There were 40 participants from various
universities such as UTAR, Multimedia University, University
Malaya, and University of Nottingham in this competition.
The event was held from 20 to 21 February 2016 at
Materialise Sdn Bhd headquarters in Petaling Jaya. The
Hack-a-thon event was organised by Materialise, sponsored by
Designex3D Sdn Bhd, and endorsed by the Multimedia
Development Corporation (MDeC).
