Description of Centre: The center was set up with the following objectives:
  1. To conduct research on sustainable architecture for the tropics.
  2. To document and record existing traditional architecture with historical significance and to publish such documentation.
  3. To develop sustainable programme based on the research and experience for architecture courses
  4. To collaborate with other tertiary institutions, local and overseas, for joint research
  5. To collaborate with other research centers within UTAR for joint research.
  6. To organize seminars and talks to promote architecture.
