Description of Centre:
|
The Centre for Social Change and Trends (CSCT) is dedicated to the study of social change and the trends which occur before or after the change. Rapid advancement in technology has made social change inevitable. In fact, drastic change has occurred especially in the past few decades, and the momentum of change has been increasing with the tick of time. Consequently, in the context of present day societies, what was past and what is present can only be distinguished by a very thin and fine line. This phenomenon has great impact on societal management. Policy makers, economists, businessmen, designers and many others would not be able to make informed decisions if there are no proper studies on the change as well as the trends that are affecting their societies. Change can be damaging as well as rejuvenating. Therefore, studies on change, as well as the trends, are important to ensure that the benefits to be reaped from social change are maximized and the risks minimized. |
